Het staat buiten kijf dat de wereld in totale verandering is. Voor bedrijven is het erg belangrijk om deze veranderingen tijdig te identificeren en correct te voorspellen. De traditionele forecast, of voorraadbeheer systemen werken vanuit de veronderstelling dat het verleden zich herhaalt en maken het moeilijk om correct met deze veranderingen om te gaan. Vaak zit de beslissingsmacht, die tenslotte alles bepaalt wat een onderneming doet, in complexe spreadsheet of in een systeem dat al jaren oud is.
Dit kan anders: er is een nieuwe methode om gebruik te maken van artificiele intelligentie die speciaal voor demand planning en voorraadbeheer ontworpen werd. De drempel naar deze digitale transformatie is lager dan je denkt: er is geen implementatie meer nodig en de planner kan zijn Excel spreadsheet of ander bestaand systeem op 1 dag omvormen. Bovendien vermindert de forecast fout met 20 tot 30% en heb je veel minder tijd nodig om een forecast of inventory plan te maken.
Maar iets radicaal nieuws zoals AI roept natuurlijk vragen op. Daarom organiseren we vanuit Garvis een gratis digitale workshop met maximum 10 deelnemende bedrijven uit de provincie Antwerpen, waarin we kort uitleggen hoe AI werkt en vervolgens geven we de kans om zelf met het planning systeem aan de slag te gaan om zo een gevoel te krijgen van hoe AI functioneert. We behandelen:
- Introductie tot AI en Data binnen demand planning
- Hands-on met AI voor planning:
- Creatie van de base line
- History mining
- Verwijderen outliers
- Identificatie events en promoties
- Voorraad optimalisatie
Deze workshop vindt plaats op 5 oktober om 14u00 en biedt Planning en Supply Chain teams meer inzicht in hoe technologie hen kan versterken, zonder de controle te verliezen.

There is no question that the world is in total change. It is essential for companies to identify and correctly predict these changes in a timely manner. Traditional forecasting or inventory management systems work on the assumption that the past will repeat itself and make it difficult to deal with these changes correctly. Often the decision-making power, which ultimately determines everything a company does, resides in a complex spreadsheet or in a system that is many years old.
This can be done differently: there is a new method for using artificial intelligence that has been specially designed for demand planning and inventory management. The threshold to this digital transformation is lower than you think: lengthy implementations are a thing of the past and the planner can transform his/her Excel spreadsheet or other existing system in 1 day. In addition, the forecast error is reduced by 20 to 30% and you need much less time to make a forecast or inventory plan.
But something radically new like AI naturally raises questions. That is why Garvis is organising a free digital workshop with a maximum of 10 participating companies from the province of Antwerp, in which we will briefly explain how AI works followed by a chance to actively try-out an AI based demand planning tool to get a real feeling of how it functions.
